Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
This book is a psychological thriller, and I guarantee you that when done with it, it will leave you physically, emotionally, and mentally drained
I recently read Abigail Haas’s thriller Dangerous Girls for the third time, as this book is one of my top favorite’s thriller books. The book is full of hidden secrets and violence, twists and turns around every corner and an ending that will have you scream at the top of your lungs!
“Wouldn’t we all look guilty, if someone searched hard enough?”
The story follows a group of friends who decide to go on a trip of a lifetime to Aruba during the spring break. Anna the protagonist thought she was having the time of her life along with her boyfriend Tate, and best friend Elise. But that dream vacation turns into a complete nightmare when Elise is found stabbed 13 times in her bedroom.
“One moment. One picture. One glimpse—that’s all it takes to make someone think they know the truth.”
At first, the all signs point toward a burglary gone wrong, especially that Elsie had a prior encounter with a local boy that didn’t end well. However, the police then start asking questions about Anna and her boyfriend Tate’s were about and suddenly Anna found herself trapped in a foreign country, accused of murdering her best friend. And the weird thing, the closer people looked the guiltier Anna looked.
That’s when the game of lies and deception begins, and that group of friends find themselves turning on each other.
“Any one of us could be made to look a monster, with selective readings of our history.”
The events of the book jump between the present events which are that of Anna’s trail, and flashbacks of the beginning of the trip, to Elise’s body being found, and the investigation taking place.
The book is very powerful, it grabs your attention from the very first page which is the 911 call, to the last line of the very last page. It’s full of suspense, dread, and mystery, it will have you suspect every character in the book, and truly ask yourself “Who killed Elise?”
The trail scenes are very intense, and to me, they were my favorites! But what was intense were the relationships between Anna and the rest of her friends!
If you’re searching for THAT book that will have your eyes burning, heart clenching, and have you gasping when you read those final 2 pages. Then I highly suggest that you go to the nearest bookstore or download from the internet because I promise you that this book will do just that. I can honestly say without a doubt, that I give this book a full five golden stars!
